The fourth round of the Super 2000 Race series was ran last weekend at Seinäjoki. The event was held on a street circuit. It was the first time the series visited Seinäjoki.
In the main Super 2000 category the races were won by Pasi Lähteenmäki (Honda Civic Type R) and Kari Grönthal (BMW 320i). Both races were ran under wet conditions on Sunday. The first race also saw a big accident involving championship favourite Janel Nurminen (Audi A4) and Ari Laivola (Seat Toledo Cupra). Both men ran side by side head on into a concrete wall at the end of the main straight. The fronts of the cars were seriously damaged and it remains to be seen wheather or when they can be repaired. For Nurminen it was a big blow as Lähteenmäki now leads quite comfortably in the points.
