The third round of the Finnish Sport 2000 Tour was held at the weekend. In Sport 2000 tourers it was a weekend of three names: reigning champion Olli Haapalainen, Pekka Pohjanperä and Pasi Lähteenmäki. The young charger Pohjanperä took second on both of the starts as Haapalainen got win on the first and third on the second start. Lähteenmäki got it the other way round getting third place and a victory respectively. So the top men got the equal amount of points.
In Formula 3 the absence of the dominant Italian Andrea Belicchi made finally hopes for a local winner. Belicchi didn't take part because he was competing in the Formula Renault V6 event at Donington in England. But in the end it was Belicchi's Russian team-mate Alexey Pavlovskiy who collected wins from both starts and also climbed on the top of the standings. Arto Taimi took second and Teemu Tanninen third on the first start. On the second they also got on to the podium but the other way around.
Formula Fords have also been in domination of Miikka Honkanen. This time Mikko Majakero started from the pole to the first race, but had to again settle for second as Honkanen got yet a another win. Sami Isohella took third. But finally in the second start Majakero got better of Honkanen and took his first win. Honkanen took second and Jarno Metso finished third.
