The newly organized Finnish racing series Super 2000 Race was launched to media today at the Ahvenisto circuit. Super 2000, which is also used for the FIA ETCC series, replaces the old Sport 2000 as the main class. However, Sport 2000 cars are still raced in same starts with the new class. The series starts next weekend (15.-16.5.) at Alastaro.

It was also informed that double F1 World Champion Mika Häkkinen will return behind the wheel of a racing car. He will contest a round of Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia, which visits the Super 2000 Race's second event at Ahvenisto at the end of this month. Also earlier was told that other Finnish ex-F1 driver Mika Salo will take part in two of the Super 2000 events both held at Ahvenisto.
